One year already!?

A year ago today I drove my boyfriend to the airport and said a solemn goodbye as I send him off to Marine Corps bootcamp for three months. I knew I wouldn't hear from him for a few weeks and I would only receive letters until his graduation. I'm not going to lie, it was hard but not as hard as I thought it would be. I loved the experience, the rush I would get when I saw a letter waiting in the mailbox. The smile that wouldn't leave my face for days after I got a surprise 4 minute phone call on Christmas Eve. Not to mention the butterflies on my flight to San Diego for his graduation and that amazing moment when I first saw him. Since then we have made a lot of amazing memories. In this year we have spent a little over 5 weeks together and the rest has been made up of phone calls, FaceTime dates, pictures, and so much more. I am so proud of Payden and all of his accomplishments and I'm grateful for the effort he puts into our relationship and simply just making me smile. Here are some photographs and amazing memories from the past year.

This is a few hi-lights of the past year and it doesn't even scratch the surface on all of the amazing memories. I'm so lucky to have such great friends and family to support and love me and I'm so happy I had the opportunity to spend this year with Payden. Thanks for everything darling! I can't wait to see you in 11 days!

  1. This looks like an incredible year. I also know the feeling of driving the mister to the airport for training, though mine was only 2 months. It's a tricky life we choose, loving those who serve. It's nice to see someone else doing so well in the same position :)
